The Coosawattee River Resort is a beautiful gated North Georgia Mountain community of 10,000 acres in Gilmer County. It is surrounded by over 27,000 acres of National Forest and minutes away from the 3,100 acres preserve of Carters Lake.
The two main attraction in the Coosawattee River Resort is the Coosawattee River and Mountaintown Creek. Mountaintown creek is a regarded as one of the best trout rivers in North Georgia.
The Coosawattee River is a large scenic river that runs through the town of Ellijay. It has many beautiful rapids features fishing, canoeing, or tubing and is the tributary that forms Carters Lake. Carters Lake, located in North Georgia, is surrounded by army core of engineer land with several boat launches and a marina.
Access to the Coosawattee River about 200 feet from the house. This is one of the most beautiful areas of the river with gentle white water rapids.
